- Mohn is a good candidate with a thorough knowledge of the organisation, as well as an understanding of the Group’s potential and the challenges to be met, says Chairman Helge Midttun.
- Frank Mohn has international and operational experience, he is strategically oriented, and he has personal qualities which make him best placed to head the Group.
Frank Mohn joined Rieber & Søn as Supply Chain Director and a member of the Group Management in 2008. Aged 43, he is a graduate of the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and started his professional career with The Boston Consulting Group. This was followed by 12 years with Jotun, where for six years he headed the company’s activities in Singapore.
Mohn says that Rieber & Søn has many important tasks ahead:
- We are committed to building on our deep understanding of the consumer and to developing our core competence in taste additives. This aggressive approach will contribute to higher sales. At the same time, we will be maintaining the focus on efficiency and professionalism that has characterised our activities over the last few years, says Mohn who will be taking up his new position on 6 February.
Mohn will be introduced as the new CEO at today’s presentation of Rieber & Søn’s accounts. The Group had an operating profit of NOK 66 million in the fourth quarter and NOK 266 million for the year, which was slightly down on the previous year. Sales in the fourth quarter totalled NOK 1 111 million, while the 12-month figure was NOK 4 293 million. The main cause of the weaker sales and profits in 2011 was the decline in sales volume, especially in the fourth quarter, and higher raw material costs in the first half-year.
Rieber & Søn has taken a number of aggressive steps to promote growth, and a range of new and innovative products will be launched in the course of 2012.
